September 18 Shades of Gray ..Shades of Gray A frameless picture hangs up my wall. No colour, no theme, no definition I turn it around. Confusion grows. What brought such an ambiguity? I draw up the curtains The sun rays reflect on it I see but a blurred image Since when did the light accentuate my bewilderment? I grab my stack of frames I slide the picture in each colour and texture The frames only define my sense of disarray I pull the picture out place it in between the pages of my journal It accompanies me in all journeys. On periods of pause I take a glimpse, two, sometimes I gaze.. A habit I developed through my search for meaning Those words you read, my friend I write on that picture For I waited too long for meanings to surface from those shades of gray After all, maybe the meaning were not to be taken from that picture you see, For that meaning I was in search for were awaiting to be read from the person within me  |
